Cadet Program
Being a Cadet is a great opportunity for High Schoolers to connect with their community and get a taste of work in the medical field. Cadets and Adult volunteers complete the same amount of coursework and classes to become EMTs. Cadets are encouraged to complete an EMR course prior to signing up for an EMT course as a baseline to help in their EMT class success.
Cadet member requirements:
Between the ages of 16 and 18 (once a Cadet turns 18 they become an adult member).
Cadets are not responsible for responding to calls between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am.
Cadets do not attend Behavioral calls.
Cadets do not respond if the caller is of High School age.
Cadet membership requires a dedication to the first aid squad. Cadet members are expected to respond to calls, attend meetings, and help in biweekly rig checks.
